Who really loves the stress of styling outfits for family photos? Be honest.. Unless you’re some sort of unicorn-client or perhaps a photographer, you’re probably not about it! The majority of clients don’t know what exactly will look great on camera. And even though it’s your favorite ‘going-out’ dress, it may be your worst nightmare on photo day. I can’t tell you how many mommas show up to a photo session tugging at dress lengths, fixing the continuously falling spaghetti strap, or constantly checking and covering cleavage… Mommas, let. me. help.
Insert Style and Select! A website which allows us to skim through many styling options based off the vibe and colors we want for you session. They do all the hard work in choosing outfits and accessories that not only compliment well, but also have moment, charm, and texture. Which is a total photographer dream!
We’ll first chat about what your ideal style and the overall vibe you want and go from there! We’ll discuss colors and coupons, back-of-closet-finds and alllllll the jewlery!

Our client Sarah is pictured here with her family at Honeymoon Island beach in Dunedin, Florida. I knew having some sort of colors that would pop from the beach colors would be helpful although most clients want to match the location with similar colors. Green outfits in a green field… It’s not a great idea. Same with blue in front of a big’ol blue ocean.
I pointed Sarah in the direction of choosing a color scheme with mustard, green and neutrals. I’m sure her first reaction was ‘ummm, mustard?"‘ but I think it really pops well, ties in sunset colors, and contrasts the green trees. Something I knoooooow is not on a clients brain, but is totally on mine, haha!
Here’s what Sarah text me; “It was so great having someone who knows what looks good on camera, tell me what colors/styles to look for while shopping! For some of the outfit ideas, I did my own shopping to find either something similar or more in-budget, while other outfit selections I just clicked the link and ordered exactly what you [brandi] picked!”
After our beach session, Sarah said, “Having you suggest and select our outfits gave me more confidence in the experience. Knowing you thought the colors/styles of clothes were going to look good helped me feel so much less stressed!”
